Intended Use & Professional Boundaries
Connection first.
Professional judgment always.
FEFE is designed to help eligible legal and mental-health professionals present their work and make professional introductions. It is not designed to deliver legal or healthcare services, hold client or patient records, or replace independent diligence.
1. Intended professional uses
- maintaining a professional profile using accurate, supportable information;
- finding members by profession, jurisdiction, focus area, location, availability, and stated collaboration preferences;
- requesting an initial professional introduction without disclosing confidential matter details;
- exploring consultation, education, expert, evaluation, wellbeing, or other lawful professional collaboration;
- confirming that FEFE checked a narrowly stated public professional record as of the displayed date; and
- managing membership, billing, profile publication, and contact preferences.
2. FEFE is not a professional-service channel
No use of FEFE creates an attorney-client, therapist-client, doctor-patient, fiduciary, employment, agency, partnership, or expert-retention relationship. A profile view, match, message, or introduction does not create confidentiality, privilege, informed consent, a duty to accept a matter, or a promise of availability.
Members who decide to work together must establish the correct relationship off-platform using their ordinary intake, conflict, informed-consent, engagement, scope, fee, security, and recordkeeping processes.
3. No emergencies or crisis use
FEFE is not monitored or designed for emergencies, crisis intervention, mandatory reports, deadlines, service of process, or urgent professional advice. If anyone may be in immediate danger, contact the local emergency number. In the United States, call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or call 911 for immediate emergency assistance. Outside the United States, use the appropriate local emergency or crisis service.
4. Information that must remain off-platform
Do not enter, upload, paste, summarize, or message:
- a client’s, patient’s, witness’s, minor’s, or opposing party’s identifying information;
- protected health information, diagnosis, history, therapy notes, medical records, assessments, test data, or insurance information;
- case facts, legal strategy, privileged communications, attorney work product, discovery, sealed records, or court deadlines;
- government identifiers, account credentials, complete financial data, card information, or criminal-history reports; or
- anything you lack authority, consent, or a lawful basis to disclose.
Deidentification is context-specific and is not achieved merely by removing a name. Use an approved secure professional channel and appropriate agreement if a later collaboration requires confidential information.
5. Geography, licensing, and remote services
A professional record in one jurisdiction does not establish authority elsewhere. Each member is responsible for identifying where a client or patient is located, whether a proposed activity constitutes professional practice there, and what licence, registration, court admission, compact authority, supervision, insurance, notice, and consent rules apply.
FEFE’s website may be visible globally while a profession or jurisdiction remains unsupported. An unsupported jurisdiction cannot receive a FEFE professional-record check. Members must not describe FEFE availability as permission to practise across borders.
6. Independent diligence before an engagement
Before relying on or retaining another member, independently consider:
- a current check with the relevant licensing, bar, court, or disciplinary authority;
- identity, organization affiliation, scope of practice, competence, experience, availability, and conflicts;
- insurance, supervision, references, engagement terms, fees, security, and record responsibilities;
- jurisdiction-specific professional and advertising rules; and
- whether client or patient consent is required before a referral, consultation, evaluation, or disclosure.
FEFE’s check is one dated information point, not a replacement for this diligence.
7. Introductions, recommendations, and fees
FEFE facilitates introductions based on member-supplied preferences and platform criteria. Unless FEFE expressly states otherwise, it does not select or recommend a professional for a particular person or matter. Participation or placement does not imply endorsement.
The FEFE membership charge is for platform access and review. It is not a payment for a particular referral, client, patient, matter, or professional fee; it is not contingent on an engagement; and FEFE does not take a percentage of professional fees. Members are responsible for ensuring their participation and any reciprocal referral practice comply with their professional rules.
8. Profiles, endorsements, and professional advertising
Profiles must be accurate, current, and supportable. A member may not imply a specialty, certification, affiliation, result, regulator endorsement, or FEFE review broader than the facts shown. Testimonials and endorsements must be genuine, authorized for publication, and compliant with every applicable professional rule. Client or patient testimonials are not accepted in the initial product.
9. Respectful and limited contact
Use contact information only for the stated professional purpose. Honor preferences and requests to stop. Do not scrape, export, resell, mass-message, harass, discriminate, recruit deceptively, or use the directory for unrelated marketing, surveillance, or sensitive profiling.
10. Questions and concerns
Report a boundary, safety, correction, or member-conduct concern to hello@fefeconnect.com. Do not include confidential case or clinical details. FEFE’s response does not replace a report to an appropriate regulator, court, law-enforcement agency, emergency service, insurer, or professional adviser.
