Verification Disclosure
A dated check.
Not a blanket promise.
A FEFE check means that selected facts were compared with an identified source for one credential, entity, or affiliation claim as of the date shown. The detail beside the check controls its meaning.
A FEFE check is not: certification, regulator endorsement, a criminal background check, a full disciplinary investigation, a guarantee of competence or suitability, or assurance of future standing or outcomes.
1. The three checks are separate
| Public label | Narrow meaning | Does not establish |
|---|---|---|
| Verified professional record | A named authority/source supported the displayed professional credential and authority-specific standing on the checked date. | Competence, specialty expertise, fitness for a matter, all credentials, complete disciplinary history, or future status. |
| Entity record checked | A named business registry contained a matching entity record and the displayed status on the checked date. | Regulator approval, applicant affiliation, professional authority, ownership, solvency, insurance, or service quality. |
| Organization affiliation confirmed | FEFE reviewed defined evidence connecting the applicant to the named organization. | Authority to bind the organization for every purpose, permanence of employment, or organization endorsement of every profile claim. |
2. What FEFE records
Each check records the claim, jurisdiction, source authority, source URL or reference, access method, checked time, match findings, source status, decision method, decision reason, evidence integrity information, expiry, and reviewer or rule version. Public profiles receive only the minimum display facts; underlying evidence remains private and access-controlled where retention is permitted.
3. Source and automation rules
FEFE automates a check only when an official API, licensed feed, contract, or written authorization permits the use and the adapter has an approved status map and test set. A public webpage is not automatically an approved API. Sources restricted to individual use are checked manually by a trained reviewer unless FEFE obtains a permitted bulk path.
An NPI may corroborate a United States healthcare provider’s identity and taxonomy, but it does not establish state licensure or credentialing. Professional standing is checked with the relevant licensing source.
4. Jurisdiction limits
Each credential is checked in one stated country and, where applicable, state or province. A Georgia licence or bar record does not establish authority in New York, another state, or another country. FEFE may be accessible globally while verification remains unavailable for a profession or jurisdiction. Unsupported claims do not receive a check.
5. Decision states
- Verified: an approved process supports the narrow claim through the stated expiry.
- Needs review: information is ambiguous or incomplete; this is not an adverse finding.
- Not verified: an authorized decision confirmed a material mismatch or authority-specific ineligible status.
- Source unavailable: the approved check could not be completed; this is not an adverse finding.
- Expired: the previous check passed its validity window without a successful recheck.
A timeout, rate limit, CAPTCHA, changed webpage, unknown status, or unsupported jurisdiction is never converted into “not verified.”
6. Discipline, restrictions, and ambiguous information
Any source result indicating public discipline, a board order, suspension, revocation, surrender, restriction, inactive/not-current status, identity conflict, or unclear terminology is routed to authorized human review. FEFE may temporarily withhold a public check while reviewing. FEFE does not publish raw discipline files or imply that the absence of a displayed flag proves no disciplinary history exists.
7. Rechecks and changes
Professional checks are ordinarily scheduled every 90 days, entity checks every 180 days, and affiliation reconfirmation annually, unless a source or risk policy requires a shorter period. FEFE may recheck sooner after a member disclosure, complaint, credible status report, source notice, or material profile change. Members must report material changes promptly.
8. Corrections and review requests
If you believe a FEFE result is wrong, email hello@fefeconnect.com with your name, account email, credential jurisdiction, the disputed display fact, and a description of the correction. Do not email sensitive identity documents unless FEFE gives you a secure upload request. FEFE will recheck the approved source, separate source errors from applicant conduct, and explain the platform decision where legally and contractually permitted.
Only the issuing authority can correct its official record. FEFE can correct or remove its own display and decision.
9. What other users should do
Check the displayed source, jurisdiction, checked date, and expiry. Before a professional engagement, independently verify current standing and conduct appropriate conflicts, competence, insurance, scope, affiliation, and reference review. Report a credible discrepancy without submitting confidential client, patient, or case information.
